December Tutorial for the Shaker Box

December Shaker Kit
I have such mixed feelings about this kit. I am excited as it is a such a beautiful kit but knowing it is the last one, I am also very sad.

Christmas Love
I loved this “Christmas Sky” paper and chose to do my first page using it. I knew that I wanted to place the photo in the bottom right hand side so the first thing that I did was spray glimmer mist outwards from that corner. While it was drying I roughened the edge of my photo and matted it in brown cardstock. I cut a circle out of the red card for under my photo mat and detail cut the flowers in the bottom right hand side. After gluing the photo in place, I went to work on the details. I used the lamplight fabric fancy on top of the photo and then placed the three flowers surrounding the photo. I cut a chipboard snowflake in half, coated it with the distress stickles and glued it amidst the flowers. For added detail, I cut out the lamppost from the other “Christmas Sky” paper and layered it over the first for some depth. Lastly, I added my title with the included letters and rubbed some stickles onto each of the snowflakes. I love how this page turned out.
All I Want for Christmas

The “Dear Santa” sheet was another beautiful one (aren't they all?) so I decided to do my own letter to Santa. From the backside of the second sheet, I cut out these two gorgeous squares to layer my photo on. I matted the photo in red card and made an arrow out of the red card and topped it with a strip of green from “winter's wings”. After layering all of this, I used the letters to create a multi-coloured title. A journaling diamond and heart sticker were used from the sticker sheet and a strip of the beautiful lace was glued in the bottom right hand corner. After adhering the poinsettia, I painted the chipboard snowflakes in cream and covered them in stickles. What a gorgeous kit! I love Webster's Pages!

Green Merry Christmas Card

I knew as soon as I saw the backing for the “fabric fancies” that I wanted to use it in some way with this month's kit. It worked perfectly as the base to this card! It was gorgeous as it was and after folding it, I placed two small strips of the green from “Winter's wings” on the top flap; used the birdhouse fabric fancy over one of the strips and attached a ribbon bow to the upper right hand corner (my own ribbon). I cut out Christmas from the “Dear Santa” sheet, printed merry with the letters and added some greenery along the bottom from “winter's wings” sheet. Lastly, I drew some stitching along the edge of the upper flap.

The other projects that were completed with the kit are in the following blog entry.
What a beautiful way to go out! Thanks to Linda for giving me the opportunity to play with her wonderful kits....the kits will be missed as well as Linda's inspiration! It's been a wonderful journey, Linda....thanks for guiding us along it!

Happy scrapping!

Okay, now I can put up December!

Now that I have November's pages loaded, I can put up December's pages. This month's kit from the Shaker Box is simply stunning and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!
