my baby is 13...eek!

So, Em turned 13 yesterday.....where has the time gone! We had a low key day yesterday with Em and a couple of her friends hanging out and then we went out to dinner last night. All in all, very relaxing! She still needs to do a party but we're not sure when we'll be doing that....lots of her friends are away for spring break right now.
The snow has been melting like crazy around here....it's so nice to see it go! I love winter but I'm so ready for spring. The crocuses are blooming in the front yard right now and quite a few bulbs are peeking out. I can't wait to get out in the garden.

By the way, in case I forget, I just wanted to give props where they are deserved....all elements from my header are from the invisible world kit by NLD.

Last night we had Emmy's peewee team and their families over for a potluck. Tons of fun was had by kids and adults alike and all the party animals were gone by 9pm...we must be getting old. No really, they just knew that Jake had to play hockey super early this morning and were very nice guests! Anyways, heading over to watch Jake's games shortly. Have a good one!

yay....I got a new header done.....still not extremely sure about it but way better than the previous!

hockey photos

I managed to get all of the team photos done this past week. Here are Emily's and Jake's:

Spring Break

so, I still haven't had much time to do my blog header. I've been scrapping a bit...I'm actually working on some pages to submit for magazines....we'll see if anything comes of it. I'm proud of myself for finally submitting though! Still cleaning and getting ready for the kids hockey party tomorrow night at our place. Jake has been asked to play in the development tourney this weekend. I'm actually really happy about it after the avalanche fiasco last weekend. I did not want his year to end that way. Basically to sum it up, Jake was invited out for tryouts and when we arrived, the goalie that he was up against was already a shoe-in. His dad was one of the coaches, so Jake never even had a chance. I was so angry! Anyways, we won't do that again....the nerve and callousness of some people never fails to amaze me.
Anyways, things are changing up a bit at the Shaker Box.....I'll complete my April and May as the design team coordinator and then in June I am doing the guest designer for the month. I'm also doing the digi designer role for the next little bit which is great! I truly love Linda's kits and she is such a sweetheart to work with.
I've also applied to work on a design team for a BC site...Lisa's Scrap Shack.....and am waiting to hear back about it. It would be awesome to be a part of something Canadian but we'll see what happens! Anyways, off to do some cleaning and then scrapping.....I love Spring Break!

digi work

I just realized that I haven't put on any of my digi work yet so I'll throw a couple of them on here!

blog header

Another goal over spring break is do create a new blog header....this one is so boring and a couple of the girls over at the ShakerBox have offered to help me figure it out!

Jake had baseball last night at the fieldhouse (inside of course, since we still have tons of snow). He loved it! This upcoming weekend, he has his Avalanche (rep team) tryouts. The two goalies that he is going up against have been with the team for the past 2 years so he doesn't have much of a chance (even though he could easily beat one of the kids)....oh, the politics!

I registered Em for soccer yesterday......she has decided not to go out for the rep team this year as it took so much time last year. She'd rather have a little more hang-out time with her friends. I don't mind a less hectic schedule at all!

hockey photos

Okay, I've been working on some hockey photos for the peewee kids for the end of the year...these are just some samples that I've been playing around with!

I managed to get some great shots of all of the players this year and so I thought it would be a cool gift for each of them to get some action shots of themselves.

Anyways, just one of the things I'll be working on over spring break!

what will I do without hockey---I know, more scrapping

Now that the end of the season is here and ball and soccer are approaching, I'm thinking....wow, I might have even more time to scrap!
Last week at the Shaker Box, I put forth a card challenge that had a definite spring feel to it....create a card that had an animal of some sort on it. This week's challenge: to create 2 birthday cards - a masculine and feminine one - to have on hand for those sudden "oh, no, I forgot" kinda moments. Check out the challenge here: http://theshakerbox.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=15320

I've been working on some year end photos for Em's PeeWee hockey team....I'll have to post them later though as they are on the laptop.

hockey is almost done

Okay, hockey is almost done and I have mixed feelings about it! I love hockey season.....I love to watch the kids out there hustling and it's one of our ways of socialing without having to do too much work! I'm looking forward to a slower pace but I'm always a little sad when the season comes to an end.

Report cards come out today and I'm anxious to see how the kids have done.....our goal was to have Jake's effort marks go up so hopefully he's taken care of that....we'll see!

The other day at the Shaker Box, I put out a challenge for card with an animal on it......I was quite happy with mine. It turned out cute!
Anyways, we are having a crop at the Shaker Box this weekend so be sure to stop over and join us for some fun challenges and games!

I've officially begun my 3 month term at the Shaker Box

Well, my 3 month term as kit designer has offically begun at The Shaker Box.....Linda's March kit is just beautiful!

The colours are fantastic and she loads her kit full of wonderful little goodies!

Here are some of the pages that I have created with the kit

Even though the colour are quite soft and muted in the kit, I wanted to show that it would still be easy to do a boy page!

I have a couple other pages (that are my favourites) that were completed from the kit but as they were just sent out with the kits, I'll hold off until later in the month to upload those.
